Biden Regime Threatens to Sue Texas Over New State Border Security Law

The Biden regime, not satisfied with flooding the state of Texas with illegal aliens, now seeks to prevent Texas from removing the invaders.

As Breaking Digest previously reported, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed SB 4 earlier this month, granting state and local law enforcement the authority to arrest, detain, and prosecute illegal aliens. Additionally, it empowers judges to issue de facto deportation orders, enabling the state to repatriate those who have been invited to enter illegally by the Biden regime.

This act of bold resistance has angered the regime.

According to CBS News, the Department of Justice warned Texas in a letter on Thursday, threatening legal action if the state moves forward with implementing SB 4.

The letter warned that if Texas does not agree to refrain from enforcing the law by Jan. 3, “the United States will pursue all appropriate legal remedies to ensure that Texas does not interfere with the functions of the federal government.”

“SB 4 is preempted and violates the United States Constitution,” Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Brian Boynton wrote. “Accordingly, the United States intends to file suit to enjoin the enforcement of SB 4 unless Texas agrees to refrain from enforcing the law.”

Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Brian Boynton further lamented that SB 4 would criminalize actions already deemed illegal at the federal level, strain relations with Mexico, and hinder officials from upholding federal immigration laws, which is an outrageous statement as Texas wouldn’t need to enact new state laws if the regime wasn’t refusing to enforce the already established federal laws.

Abbott fired back at the regime on X after learning the news, pointing out that Joe Biden is destroying America, and Texas is trying to save it.

The border crisis is about to get even worse as the largest caravan of migrants ever — with over 15,000 migrants — makes its way toward the U.S.-Mexico border. The “Christmas Caravan”, led by activist Luis Garcia Villagran, left on December 25 from southern Mexico.

Watch:

The new law is set to go into effect on March 5, 2024.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a lawsuit against Texas shortly after Mr. Abbott signed the bill.

Mexico’s radical leftist president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, also threatened to take legal action against the State of Texas over the new law.
