Curtis James Jackson III, known professionally as 50 Cent, recently took to social media to express his bewilderment and apparent frustration regarding a new initiative launched by Mayor Eric Adams’ administration.
The rapper, boasting nearly 13 million followers on Twitter and an astounding 31 million on Instagram, hinted at supporting President Trump in his latest Instagram post.
The controversial $53 million pilot program in question aims to assist illegal alien families living in New York City by offering them direct financial aid.
Under this initiative, eligible households will receive debit cards loaded with funds, the amount varying based on family size and income. For instance, a family of four could potentially receive up to $1,000 monthly, with the card being reloaded every 28 days.
While the program kicks off with 500 individuals, there’s potential for it to expand to include the estimated 15,000 illegal aliens currently housed in city hotels. This move by the Adams administration has ignited a heated debate regarding the allocation of city funds, ethics, and the prioritization of resources.
Critics argue that the program is a slap in the face to legal residents who are grappling with challenges such as homelessness, inadequate housing, underfunded education, and crumbling infrastructure. Moreover, the program’s resemblance to the state’s food stamp program, SNAP, is drawing scrutiny for its emphasis on illegals.

On Saturday, 50 Cent took to Instagram to voice his frustration, tagging Ari Melber, host of MSNBC’s “The Beat”:
WTF mayor Adams, call my phone, I don’t understand how this works. somebody explain. @arimelber can’t explain this. I’m stuck. maybe TRUMP is the answer.
