On Tuesday morning, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said FBI Director Wray has until today to turn over a subpoenaed document that details Joe Biden’s involvement in a bribery scheme or face contempt of Congress charges.
On Fox News Tuesday morning, McCarthy issued a stern warning to FBI Director Christopher Wray.
“I have a message for FBI Director Christopher Wray: If he misses today’s deadline to turn over subpoenaed documents to Congress, I am prepared to move contempt charges against him.” McCarthy said on Tuesday morning.
“He can send us the document. We have a right to look at that. Republicans and Democrats alike in that committee and if he does not follow through with the law, we will move contempt charges against Christopher Wray and the FBI. They are not above the law,” he said.
Watch:
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray threatening him with contempt of Congress charges if he refuses to turn over the subpoenaed FBI form FD-1023.
The document describes, in detail, how Biden accepted money in exchange for foreign policy decisions.
Rep. Comer gave Wray until today, May 30, to turn over the requested document.
