House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) has sent a letter to corrupt Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, threatening to invoke contempt of Congress proceedings due to her failure to comply with the Committee’s subpoena and document requests.
The requested documents are related to an investigation into her office’s misuse of federal funds.
“The Committee issued a subpoena on February 2, 2024, after several attempts to obtain voluntary compliance. The subpoena compelled the production of two specific categories of documents: (1) documents and communications relating to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office’s (FCDAO) receipt and use of federal funds and (2) documents and communications relating to any allegations of the misuse of federal funds by the FCDAO,” House Republicans said.
The subpoena issued on February 2 ordered Willis to hand over documents falling under two distinct categories: 1) documents and communications referring to the FCDAO’s receipt and use of federal funds and 2) documents and communications concerning any allegations of misuse of these funds.
While Willis’ office did respond to the February subpoena, Jordan asserts that it did not include documents regarding allegations made by a former employee regarding the misuse of federal grant money by another former employee. In his letter to Willis, Jordan bluntly accused the DA’s office of distracting and misdirecting.
“On February 23, 2024, you responded to the Committee’s subpoena with a letter in which you smeared a former employee of yours who spoke out about your misuse of federal grant funds,” wrote Jordan. “We will not dignify your attacks on this brave whistleblower, or your continued attempts to distract from your conduct through misdirection and personal insults. The allegations in the public realm about your misuse of federal grant funding are concerning, and the Committee has an obligation to examine them.”
House Republicans have given Willis until March 28, 2024 to produce the requested documents or face contempt of Congress charges.
“While you have indicated that additional documents may be forthcoming in response to the Committee’s subpoena, the Committee has yet to receive any additional responsive materials in the three weeks since your initial response. Accordingly, the Committee expects that you will produce all responsive documents to the subpoena in the categories prioritized by the Committee no later than 12:00 p.m. on March 28, 2024. If you fail to do so, the Committee will consider taking further action, such as the invocation of contempt of Congress proceedings,” Chairman Jordan’s office wrote.

The allegations center on a former employee who claimed she was fired by Willis shortly after raising concerns about a campaign aide for Willis, who subsequently became a county employee. The concern was that this individual aimed to divert federal grants for uses beyond the intended scope of a youth violence and gang prevention program.
Breaking Digest previously reported that audio recordings surfaced revealing that Fani Willis was privately warned by the whistleblower about her top aide’s misuse of federal funds.
Rather than addressing the allegations or reporting the aide, she chose to “shoot the messenger” instead by firing the whistleblower.
The whistleblower was fired 56 days later and perp walked out of the building.
