Hollywood can’t stop their need to make everything woke. In a new Scooby-Doo cartoon movie on Prime Video, Velma comes out as a lesbian.

In a clip from the new movie, Trick or Treat: Scooby-Doo!, Velma’s interaction with a female costume designer, Coco Diablo, leaves Velma blushing and crushing on Coco.

Velma exhibits all the telltale signs of cartoon swooning. She blushes. Her eyeglasses fog. “Jinkiiiiees,” she sighs.

In a separate scene, Coco places her hand on Velma’s shoulder, causing her to quiver.

In another scene, Velma professes her thirst for Diablo outright to her best friend, Daphne Blake.

“I’m crushing big time, Daphne. What do I do? What do I say?”

Scooby-Doo premiered on CBS in 1969. For 53 years Velma was depicted as straight with frequent innuendos of a crush on her male cartoon co-star Shaggy.

Twitter users celebrated:

However, others weren’t so happy with the revelation. “They destroyed Scooby Doo with this woke LGBTQIA nonsense. Just another attempt to indoctrinate children,” one tweeted.

“Why not make Velma black and disabled as well? Are they racist and ableist?” another user sarcastically tweeted:
