As previously reported by Breaking Digest, the House is scheduled to hold its third vote for the selection of a new Speaker today at 10 AM ET.
Jim Jordan needs to win over a minimum of 17 out of the 22 RINOS who are currently withholding their support for him in order to secure victory.
Jake Sherman, of Punchbowl News, reported that several GOP members are likely to leave for the weekend. Holding a vote during their absence could pose a considerable risk and might inadvertently result in the election of Jeffries.
Several House GOP sources tell me some Republican lawmakers are going home this weekend. So the GOP has to be very careful about holding speaker votes this weekend. They could end up inadvertently electing @RepJeffries
