The House is scheduled to hold the third Speaker ballot on Friday morning at 10 am ET.

Chairman Jim Jordan, despite his efforts, has not yet garnered the required 217 votes to secure the position. He expressed his anticipation of a third ballot before engaging in a closed-door meeting with some RINO holdouts.

According to CNN, Rep. Jim Jordan’s office informed reporters that “The House is expected to hold its next vote for speaker at 10 a.m. ET Friday.”

Jordan further affirmed his intention to run for Speaker, stating, “I’m still running for Speaker and I plan to go to the floor and get the votes and win this race.” He made these remarks just before meeting with McCarthy, McHenry, and the RINO holdouts.

However, the RINO holdouts are standing firm, as indicated by congressional reporters on Capitol Hill. They are advising Jim Jordan to withdraw from the race.

Following the meeting involving McCarthy, McHenry, Jordan, and the holdouts, Gimenez reported that no one’s position had shifted. In the meeting, Jordan was urged to withdraw, as reported by Politico.

Within the Republican Caucus, there was division over whether to support a resolution granting temporary Speaker authority to Patrick McHenry.
