The highly anticipated confrontation between FBI Director Chris Wray and Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH), Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and the Weaponization Subcommittee, took place today.

Chairman Jordan wasted no time in blasting the “Orwellian” censorship regime under the Biden administration, as revealed in the Missouri v Biden case and the FBI for assisting in this censorship by covering up the data dump from Hunter Biden’s laptop. Jordan noted that the suppressed speech targeted by the administration was predominantly conservative in nature.

We also now know that it was the truth.

He proceeded to delve into the numerous problems with the FBI, highlighting their mishandling of investigations into concerned parents regarding the education system, their disproportionate response to protests at abortion clinics, their surveillance of President Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, their raid on Mar-a-Lago, and their retribution against congressional whistleblowers.

Jim Jordan pointed out the FBI’s audacity, stating that they expect the very taxpayers they censored, the parents they unjustly labeled as domestic terrorists, and the pro-life Catholics they labeled as radicals to fund a new FBI headquarters. He also emphasized their request for the reauthorization of the FISA 702 program, despite their alarming record of 200,004 instances of abuse.

“They [the FBI] want the taxpayers they censored, the parents they labeled [as domestic terrorists], the pro-life Catholics they called radical, they want them to pay for a new FBI headquarters and they want FISA re-authorization of the 702 program in its current form [that they were caught abusing 200,004 times].”

Representative Jordan succinctly summarized his stance in a tweet, stating, “Retaliate against a whistleblower? Lose your salary. Discourage U.S. Marshalls from protecting [SCOTUS] justices? No funds for you. And no new funds for an FBI headquarters!”

During the question and answer session that followed the opening statements, Chairman Jordan grilled Wray on FBI abuses. Jordan specifically highlighted a memo that outlined the FBI’s policy in Richmond regarding the recruitment of informants within the Catholic Church based on a perceived connection between “radical-traditionalist Catholic ideology” and “violent extremism.”

The memo states that individuals adhering to “radical-traditionalist Catholic ideology” can be identified based on various factors, including their beliefs regarding abortion.

Jordan questioned the motive behind the memo, to which Wray responded that an internal review within the bureau was underway to uncover the motivation. He mentioned that he expected to provide Congress with the findings of the review “later in the summer.” Jordan argued that the memo was clearly driven by politics and political preferences, pointing out the memo’s concern about the potential spread of “radical-traditionalist” Catholic interests leading up to the next general election.

The memo instructed agents to monitor legislative activities related to abortion rights, immigration, affirmative action, and LGBTQ protection by the mentioned group.

Jordan said, “I think it is interesting that we just got a decision from a bunch of Catholics who sit on the United States Supreme Court relative to affirmative action.”
