Police have identified the gunman that killed eight people and injured 7 others when he opened fire at a Texas outdoor mall Saturday afternoon, according to authorities.
Police said 33-year-old Mauricio Garcia opened fire at the Allen Premium Outlets, a mall north of Dallas.
Garcia was later killed on the scene by a police officer.
The state of the gunman’s mental health has been brought into question after it was revealed that Garcia was discharged from the Army after three months of service due to a mental health condition, according to Army officials.
Authorities are also reviewing Garcia’s connection to “white supremacy”, based on his supposed social media accounts that overtly expressed interest in white supremacy and neo-Nazi views.
In a Twitter thread, Bellingcat writer Aric Toler, posted screenshots of Garcia’s alleged Russian OK profile.
The feds are now investigating whether Garcia was actually a Mexican white supremacist.
The Associated Press reported:
Federal officials are looking into whether the gunman who killed eight people at a Dallas-area mall expressed an interest in white supremacist ideology Sunday as they work to discern a motive for the attack, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press. The official cautioned the investigation is in its early stages.
Federal agents have been reviewing social media accounts they believe were used by Mauricio Garcia, 33, and posts that expressed interest in white supremacist and neo-Nazi views, said the official, who could not discuss details of the investigation publicly and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.
Garcia also had a patch on his chest when he was killed by police that read “RWDS,” an acronym for the phrase “Right Wing Death Squad,” which is popular among right-wing extremists and white supremacy groups, the official said.
In addition to reviewing social media posts, federal agents have interviewed family members and associates of Garcia to ask about his ideological beliefs, the official said. Investigators are also reviewing financial records, other online posts they believe Garcia made and other electronic media, according to the official.
It’s not adding up…
In Garcia’s alleged social media posts, he showed off seemingly very fresh tattoos of Nazi symbols and the symbol for the city of Dallas.
Supposedly Mauricio Garcia made a social media profile that included all of the elements you would expect to see from a “Neo-Nazi” psychopath but also had no followers, no comments, no likes, and no shares.
A “face reveal” video supposedly of Garcia was uploaded on May 6, 2023… the day of the shooting.
We don’t even know if the pictures we have seen are, in fact, the shooter. A picture of a man named Mauricio Garcia started circulating on social media shortly after the shooting. However, social media users later said that it wasn’t the same Mauricio Garcia, but just another Texas man with the same name.
This story stinks to high heaven already.
