The House Oversight Committee has officially issued a subpoena to Attorney General Merrick Garland. Congressional investigators are seeking all documents pertaining to Special Counsel Robert Hur’s investigation into Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents.

Hur’s investigation essentially exonerated Biden, attributing any mishandling to his poor memory and advanced age. However, this only sparks further doubt about Biden’s capability to lead the nation.

Garland’s Department of Justice (DOJ) has been notably silent on Biden’s various controversies, suggesting that they are shielding him. On Tuesday, the House Judiciary GOP announced, “Jim Jordan and Rep. James Comer subpoena Attorney General Merrick Garland for records, including transcripts, notes, video, and audio files, related to Special Counsel Robert Hur’s investigation of President Joe Biden’s willful mishandling of classified information.”

In a letter accompanying the subpoena, lawmakers said they were specifically investigating whether Biden retained documents related to countries his family members did business with and whether Biden’s attorneys limited the scope of questions that would have prevented Hur from asking about statements linking Biden to alleged foreign payments.

Joe Khalil from News Nation pointed out the timing of the subpoena, noting that it coincides with the day when the resident of the White House is scheduled to deliver the State of the Union address.
