Canadian actor Chris Gauthier, known for his appearances on TV shows like “Once Upon a Time” and “Eureka,” died suddenly on February 23 at the age of 48 due to a short, unspecified illness, according to Deadline.

TriStar Appearances/Event Horizon Talent confirmed his passing, stating, “We can confirm that our dear friend and client, Chris Gauthier, passed away on Friday morning, February 23, at the age of 48.” They continued, “His loss is felt not just by his fans but by those of us who were lucky enough to know him more personally.” The statement also requested privacy for the family during this difficult time.

Gauthier had notable roles in “Eureka,” where he portrayed Vincent, the owner of Café Diem, and in the CBS Mystery Event “Harper’s Island” as Malcolm Ross. He also appeared in “Freddy vs. Jason” as Shack. However, his most recognized role came from “Smallville,” where he played Winslow Schott, also known as Toyman, engaging in confrontations with Clark and Oliver and contributing to the establishment of Marionette Ventures, also known as The Legion of Doom.
