Infowars host Owen Shroyer entered a guilty plea in June, acknowledging a single Class A Misdemeanor for Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds on January 6, 2021.

The accomplished journalist initially faced charges in August 2021, a full eight months after being present near the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

After nearly two years of contesting charges linked to his presence in the vicinity of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, Owen opted to plead guilty to a lesser offense.

In doing so, Shroyer permitted the government to scrutinize his social media accounts, presumably in search of any potentially incriminating content.

Owen stood outside the U.S. Capitol alongside Alex Jones, cautioning people against entering the Capitol, recognizing it as a set up. Rather than receiving commendations for their actions on that day, Owen was arrested by the authorities on baseless charges several months later.

Even though he didn’t personally enter the Capitol building, the Department of Justice argues that his influence was evident, as many of those who followed him did enter.

According to the DOJ’s memorandum, “Shroyer helped create January 6.” They are urging the court to impose a sentence of 120 days of imprisonment, 12 months of supervised release, 60 hours of community service, and a $500 restitution fee.
