America’s Got Talent Finalist and Tyler Perry Collaborator, Zuri Craig, Dies Suddenly at Age 44

Former America’s Got Talent finalist Zuri Craig has died suddenly at age 44.

Craig was a part of the Craig Lewis Band with his singing partner, Jeffrey Lewis.

They performed on Season 10 of the NBC competition series in 2015 — and came in fifth overall.

Craig also collaborated with Tyler Perry on his films Madea’s Big Happy Family, Madea Gets a Job and A Madea Christmas.

Craig was set to produce a live-action production called Soul Food Live in Atlanta, beginning in November.

His family confirmed that he died on Oct. 21.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the transition of our beloved son, brother and friend, Zuri Craig,” his family wrote on his Instagram page.

Fans left their condolences on Craig’s social media page, with one writing: “My condolences to his family and friends and Tyler Perry😢.”
