The Harris-Walz campaign is feeling the heat after several days of getting hammered over Minnesota Governor and vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz’s exaggeration of his military record.
The campaign has quietly made changes to Walz’s biography on its official website, as reported by Politico.
Initially, Walz’s bio stated that he was a “retired Command Sergeant Major.”
However, Walz is not a retired Command Sergeant Major.
Following the exposure of this lie, the bio was revised to say he “served as a command sergeant major,” reflecting the fact that he was actually demoted for not completing the required classes.
Here is the original false claims made by the Kamala-Walz campaign.
And here is the edited language on the current Kamala Harris website.
From Politico:
Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign updated its online biography of running mate Tim Walz’s military service amid Republican efforts to question his record in the Army National Guard.
On its website, the Harris campaign axed a reference to Walz as a “retired command sergeant major” and now says that he once served at the command sergeant major rank — a small change that nonetheless reflects his true rank at retirement from the Army National Guard.
Walz, the governor of Minnesota, served for 24 years in the National Guard before retiring in 2005 from the military to run for the U.S. House, where he became the most senior enlisted soldier to serve in Congress.
The scandal that emerged almost immediately after Walz was announced as Harris’s running mate, has drawn widespread scrutiny, especially after Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance pointed out that Walz had withdrawn from a tour in Iraq.
You know what really bothers me about Tim Walz?

When the US Marine Corps asked me to go to Iraq to serve my country, I did it.
When Tim Walz was asked by his country to go to Iraq, he dropped out of the Army and allowed his unit to go without him. I think that's shameful. pic.twitter.com/Dq9xjn4R51
The video posted on X by the Harris-Walz campaign, in which Walz falsely claimed that he carried “weapons of war” in war is still up.
Walz never saw one single day of combat in any war. He never deployed to a combat zone.
Walz dropped out of the Army after his unit was deployed to Iraq.
Walz is a liar.
Gov. @Tim_Walz: I spent 25 years in the Army and I hunt. I’ve been voting for common sense legislation that protects the Second Amendment, but we can do background checks. We can research the impacts of gun violence. We can make sure those weapons of war, that I carried in war,… pic.twitter.com/3IVaXi2RP2
