As reported by The New York Daily News on Thursday, Eric Duprey, a drug-related suspect on a motorcycle, died after NYPD officer, Erik Duran, flung a cooler from a nearby family’s sidewalk table at him. This abrupt action caused Duprey to lose control of his motorcycle while attempting to escape a buy-and-bust sting operation in the Bronx.

Following the incident, the NYPD promptly suspended Sgt. Erik Duran, a seasoned Bronx narcotics officer who joined the force in 2010, without pay, mere hours after the fatal incident.

Additionally, the NYPD revealed that the New York Attorney General’s office was at the forefront of the investigation, with their assistance. Notably, Letitia James, a Trump-hater and a radical leftist, holds the position of Attorney General in New York.

The official cause of death will be determined by New York City’s medical examiner.

As reported by the New York Daily News, the incident unfolded on Aqueduct Ave. close to W. 190th St. in Kingsbridge Heights around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. An individual who witnessed the event stated that he was present with family members when the confrontation occurred.

The 42-year-old individual recounted to the paper that Sgt. Duran seized his fully loaded cooler and used it to strike Duprey.

He (Duprey) was on the bike, moving north when the cops started chasing him. Then he took a U-turn and was riding on the sidewalk. The cop then took my cooler, which was filled with soda cans, water bottles, and hit him.

Surveillance footage captures Duprey riding on the sidewalk, with Duran forcefully throwing the cooler at him from a short distance. Following the impact, the rider loses control and falls off the motorcycle, colliding with a parked car while his bike comes to a stop.

Erika Duprey Soto, the sister of the deceased suspect, was overcome with grief and bewilderment in the aftermath of the event. She told the Daily News that there was no justification for the police officer to hurl a cooler, even though her brother was allegedly evading the scene of a crime.

It’s crazy that the cop threw a cooler at him.

“He used to work as a delivery man for Uber, DoorDash. He used the same scooter for deliveries that he was riding yesterday when he was attacked.”

I still can’t understand what happened. He’s gone. I loved my brother to death.
