The left is using lawfare against President Trump to try and stop him from returning to the White House.
On February 16, Trump was ordered to pay $464 million in damages for a “victimless” crime.
Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron ordered President Trump pay approximately $355 million in disgorgement and over $98 million in prejudgment interest at a 9% annual rate. Furthermore, the judge imposed a three-year ban on President Trump serving as an officer or director in NYC businesses and applying for loans from any financial institution chartered or registered in New York.
President Trump is obligated to post the bond by Monday. Failure to do so would enable New York’s lunatic Attorney General Letitia James to seize his bank accounts or properties.
The left has been absolutely elated over the unjust ruling against President Trump.

“Through hard work, talent, and luck, I currently have almost five hundred million dollars in cash, a substantial amount of which I intended to use in my campaign for president,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social in all caps. “The often overturned political hack judge on the rigged and corrupt A.G. case, where I have done nothing wrong, knew this, wanted to take it away from me, and that’s where and why he came up with the shocking number which, coupled with his crazy interest demand, is approximately $454,000,000.”
Trump wrote that he did “nothing wrong except win an election in 2016 that I wasn’t expected to win, did even better in 2020, and now lead, by a lot, in 2024. This is communism in America!”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump suggested that the judge was aware of his financial resources, which is how he came up with that number.
