President Trump may soon receive assistance from the world’s third-richest man.

According to the New York Times, the 45th President held a secret meeting with Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Sunday at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. A few affluent GOP donors were also there at that time.

This meeting comes as Trump seeks financial support to counter Joe Biden’s campaign, which has achieved record-breaking fundraising. The Times suggests that Musk alone has the capability to offset Biden’s significant financial advantage.

As of now, it remains uncertain whether Musk has committed to contributing to Trump’s campaign. Initially, one might speculate that such a significant investment from Musk is improbable, given his history of predominantly supporting Democrats.

The Times also highlights previous heated disagreements between Musk and Trump. For instance, in the summer of 2022, Musk stated that it was time for Trump to “sail into the sunset,” prompting a colorful response from the 45th President directed at Musk.

However, there are indications that the Tesla founder might opt to endorse the MAGA movement this time around, starting with the issue of immigration.

Musk has been vocal about his concerns regarding the Biden administration’s handling of border issues for several weeks.

In early 2023, Musk confirmed that he had voted for Joe Biden in 2020.

However, in recent years, he has become a staunch critic of the president’s policies, particularly on immigration. “This administration is both importing voters and creating a national security threat from unvetted illegal immigrants,” Musk wrote in an X post on Tuesday.  “It is highly probable that the groundwork is being laid for something far worse than 9/11. Just a matter of time.”

Musk has also rejected Biden’s ridiculous claim that only Congress holds control over border security, stating, “The massive flood of illegal immigration is due to 94 executive actions by the Biden administration,” Musk wrote in a March 2 X post. “Until those executive actions are revoked, claims by Biden that he wants to address illegal immigration are a bold-faced lie.”

Moreover, Musk has criticized the Biden administration for vaccine mandates, corruption involving his son’s shady business dealings, and the weaponization of federal agencies against Trump and his supporters. “I cannot see myself voting for Biden this time,” Musk posted on X in January of this year.
