The New York Presbyterian Hospital is airing a commercial, in New York State, to raise awareness of myocarditis among children.
Some are questioning if this is the “new normal”.
The hospital recently uploaded a video titled “Pediatric Patient Story – Suri” to its YouTube channel, with a caption that reads, “Suri had a bad stomach ache that turned out to be myocarditis, a serious inflammation of the heart. Our multidisciplinary pediatric critical care team worked to regulate her heartbeat – and got her back to feeling like herself.”

According to the New York Presbyterian Hospital website, it has more than 200 locations in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Westchester, and Putnam Counties, and offers ten hospital campuses.
Some expressed their disapproval on social media:
“Look how they’re normalizing my0carditis in children!!”, one user tweeted.
“So normalizing myocarditis in children?”
“I have never heard of that being normal.”
“What has changed in the last year??????”
“Please, someone tell me. In one year’s time, what has changed?”, another user tweeted.
