Renowned boxer Mike Tyson, 57, experienced a medical emergency while on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday, just before his upcoming fight with Jake Paul.

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, a YouTuber turned boxer aged 27, are set to fight on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

“Mike had some kind of medical emergency on the plane and paramedics boarded,” a source told In Touch Weekly. “Before the paramedics arrived the flight issued an announcement asking for a doctor — the message even came on everyone’s screens.“

Mike Tyson’s representative informed the New York Post that the boxer had an ulcer flare-up.

The plane’s departure was delayed by two hours due to excessive heat in the Miami area. An eyewitness confirmed that Tyson was aboard American Airlines flight 1815, waiting in the Admirals Club. “There was a lot of buzz when he left the Admirals Club and got to the gate. A lot of fans recognized him, and a few people got pictures,” the eyewitness said.

After landing in Los Angeles, passengers remained on the plane for an additional 25 minutes while paramedics attended to Tyson.

“Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great,” Tyson’s representatives told The New York Post. “He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”

Earlier this month, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson faced off in a pre-fight event.
