On Tuesday, House Republicans voted to create a new Select Committee to probe the Weaponization of the Federal Government.
The resolution passed in a 221-211 vote.
The subcommittee of the Judiciary Committee would have extraordinary power to investigate any part of the federal government — the Justice Department and FBI, in particular. Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, is expected to spearhead the Judiciary subcommittee as Republicans say they are making final assignments.
“We have a duty to get into these agencies and look at how they have been weaponized to go against the very people they’re supposed to represent, how they have infringed on First Amendment liberties of the American people. And we’re going to do that,” Jordan said on Fox News Sunday. “We’re going to do it in a way that’s consistent with the Constitution. But we’re going to do it vigorously. We’re going to do it aggressively. Because that’s our job.”
Congressman Jordan went off on Democrats over the weaponization of the federal government from the House floor on Tuesday.
Jordan blasted Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler and Merrick Garland.
