On Tuesday, relatives of the U.S. citizens who went missing following the Hamas attack on Saturday held a press conference.
Two families addressed the media in Tel Aviv, pleading for help from authorities in locating their missing loved ones.
During the press conference, one family member mentioned that they were aware of ten additional families who were also missing their loved ones, U.S. citizens who were taken on Saturday.
The families informed reporters that, as a collective group, they have not received any communication from the Biden administration since their loved ones went missing during the Hamas attack last Saturday.
Family Member of Itay Chen:
So what I could say is that the side of the US Embassy we’ve been in contact with the State Department and the US Embassy and have taken note of the details of Itay, but there’s been no formal or concentrated attempt to talk to us as a group and updating us about what they are doing in this matter. I think it is a legit request from a representative from the State Department to sit with us, update us what they have been doing, or what they are planning to do, enable to support us. From the Israeli government, as I said before, we got an indication about the status of Itay as defined as missing in action and waiting to get additional updates.
