Some Americans were not happy with Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime show.
The Federal Communications Commission received over 100 complaints from outraged fans after the Super Bowl, over Rihanna’s halftime show, which has been described as “overtly sexual” and “demonic”.
With over 100 FCC complaints, Rihanna’s performance drew more than Sam Smith’s satanic performance at the Grammys, which received.
Rihanna’s half-time show featured blatant satanic symbolism and overtly sexual gestures and lyrics.
At one point, during the performance, Rihanna grabbed her crotch and smelled her fingers.
The Hill reported:
Rihanna’s halftime show at Super Bowl LVII elicited more complaints from TV viewers than Sam Smith and Kim Petras’s controversial performance at the Grammy Awards.
The “Diamonds” singer’s halftime spectacle at State Farm Stadium in Arizona earlier this month drew 102 complaints to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), according to records obtained by The Hill as part of a Freedom of Information Act request.

While this year’s Super Bowl-related complaints topped 100, the Grammy Awards earlier this month also drew plenty of protests, with virtually all of its 87 FCC complaints focused on Smith and Petras’s “satanic” performance of their hit song, “Unholy.” Smith sported a red top hat with horns as Petras belted out the tune from inside a cage, as dancers grasped whips and fire erupted from the stage.
Complaints ranged from Rihanna’s dance moves and gestures to her outfit.
“The main performer and the background dancers exhibited overtly sexual movements which are not appropriate for over the air television,” a viewer wrote.
One grievance described her performance crew as being “patently offensive and completely inappropriate for children.”
“From all angles it was made to look like bare naked breasts of the red color. Yes that color isn’t her natural skin tone, but the sexuality of the design cannot be denied,” another viewer stated.
Another one called it “patently offensive and completely inappropriate for children.”
