On Thursday morning, Biden’s State Department issued a global warning for American travelers abroad.
The “Worldwide Caution” advisory, although not detailed, is likely prompted by attacks from Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Hezbollah terrorists against Israel.
Adding to the tension are the false reports of an Israeli strike on a Gaza hospital (which was actually a terrorist rocket misfire that hit the parking lot, not the hospital building), has led to protests and unrest near American and Israeli embassies.
“Due to increased tensions in various locations around the world, the potential for terrorist attacks, demonstrations or violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests, the Department of State advises U.S. citizens overseas to exercise increased caution,” the State Department’s advisory states.

The advisory recommends that American citizens, regardless of their location, should:
- Remain vigilant when in areas popular with tourists.
- Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive information and alerts, which can facilitate the tracking of U.S. citizens.
Furthermore, the advisory encourages American travelers to follow the Department of State on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
The Biden administration and federal law enforcement have consistently stated that there are no specific, credible threats against the U.S. homeland. However, the advisory issued on Thursday implies that there is new intelligence indicating potential threats around the world following the recent ambush attack by Hamas terrorists on Israel.
