As Breaking Digest reported, Hunter Biden held an impromptu press conference outside the U.S. Capitol to whine about “MAGA Republicans”, after refusing to comply with Rep. James Comer’s subpoena for a closed-door deposition.
During the press conference on Wednesday, Hunter said he will only testify “at a public hearing,” stating, “I’m here today to make sure that the House committees’ illegitimate investigations of my family do not proceed on distortions, manipulated evidence, and lies.”
“I have been the target of the unrelenting Trump attack machine shouting, ‘Where’s Hunter?’ Well here’s my answer: I am here. I’m ready,’” Hunter said while actively avoiding questions from Congress.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer was furious that Hunter blatantly defied a lawful congressional subpoena.
“We expect to depose the president’s son and then we’ll be more than happy to have a public hearing,” said Comer, adding that reporters would soon be allowed to review the “mountain” of evidence that his committee has uncovered.

Many called for Hunter to be held in Contempt of Congress.
Rep. Comer announced on Wednesday that GOP lawmakers would begin contempt of Congress proceedings following Hunter Biden’s blatant defiance of a legally issued subpoena.
“Hunter Biden today defied lawful subpoenas and we will now initiate contempt of Congress proceedings,” Comer wrote.
“We will not provide special treatment because his last name is Biden,” Comer added.
In a joint statement by Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) and House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH), Republicans claim Hunter unlawfully defied a subpoena and will now pay the consequence.
“Hunter Biden today defied lawful subpoenas and we will now initiate contempt of Congress proceedings. We will not provide special treatment because his last name is Biden. As our committees were today prepared to depose Hunter Biden, he chose to make a public statement on Capitol Hill instead where he said his father, Joe Biden was not financially involved in his family’s business dealings. Exactly how was Joe Biden involved? Evidence shows Joe Biden met with Hunter Biden’s business associates and his name was at the center of the family business strategy,” Comer and Jordan said in the statement.
