CBS News is now finally reporting that the Hunter laptop is legitimate two years after dismissing it as a “conspiracy theory”.
Apparently, they are trying to get ahead of the story before the GOP starts their investigation into Joe Biden, his involvement in Hunter Biden’s shady business dealings, and whether or not Joe Biden is compromised.
The laptop has already been authenticated by multiple outlets, including The New York Times, Washington Post, and NBC News.
“As Republicans take control of the House, Hunter Biden, the president’s son will be a target for investigations and that means data from a laptop purported to belong to Biden could be crucial to the investigatory process. CBS News has obtained its data, not through a third party or political operative, but directly from the source who told us they provided it to the FBI under subpoena,” CNS News anchor Tony Dokoupil said. “We commissioned an independent forensic review to determine its authenticity.”
CBS News then reiterated what many other news outlets have already reported and declared there is “no evidence” the laptop was fake or tampered with. CBS News claimed it wanted to “cut through the noise” and ultimately declared the laptop, which has troves of data, emails and other possibly damaging information on the president’s son, is legitimate.
Republican Congressman-elect Wesley Hunter tweeted about this on Monday.
Although CBS is now accurately reporting that the “laptop from hell” is real, it should be noted, however, that Hunter Biden is not the target of the investigation. Rep. James Comer very clearly stated that it is an investigation of Joe Biden, not Hunter, when he made the announcement Thursday.

We’re also sending letters to Biden Administration officials and Biden family associates renewing our request for voluntary production of documents relevant to this investigation. This is an investigation of Joe Biden. And why he lied to the American people about knowledge and participation in his family’s international business schemes.”
