We’ve seen many questionable, and some downright appalling, comments from the left and the media in response to the assassination attempt on President Trump.
However, the response from Jacqueline Marsaw, reportedly a staffer for Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), stands out as one of the worst. She posted a meme that read, “I don’t condone violence, but please get you some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time oops that wasn’t me talking,” obviously expressing her disappointment that Trump’s shooter missed.
Take a look:
NEW: Staffer for Congressman Bennie Thompson (D-MS) no longer employed after social media post insinuating that Trump’s shooter shouldn’t have missed. @BennieGThompson statement:

Marsaw has been fired following her social media post.
Thompson issued a statement following the understandable uproar over the staffer’s meme.
“I was made aware of a post made by a staff member and she is no longer in my employment,” he said.
From colleague Aishah Hasnie. Top Dem on Homeland Security Cmte Bennie Thompson on aide Jacqueline Marsaw who worked in his district office: “I was made aware of a post made by a staff member and she is no longer in my employment.”

Marsaw’s comment is appalling, and Bennie Thompson is now trying to distance himself from it.
He can try all he wants but his prior actions won’t allow that to happen.
Here’s what he shared on X regarding the assassination attempt, emphasizing that political violence has no place, expressing relief that Trump was unharmed, and offering his condolences to everyone affected.
There is no room in American democracy for political violence. I am grateful for law enforcement’s fast response to this incident.

I am glad the former President is safe, and my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved.
It’s almost like they don’t realize we keep the receipts.
Thompson has actively participated in demonizing Trump. He led the sham Jan. 6 Committee, whose sole purpose was to “get Trump.”
In April, Thompson authored a bill to remove Trump’s Secret Service protection after being convicted on junk criminal charges in federal and state courts.
Social media users weren’t buying his crocodile tears and called him out:
You tried to strip his secret service protection.

If you had succeeded, President Trump would be dead.
Resign.
You tried to take away his Secret Service detail, you fucking tyrant

You’re going to gitmo when he wins
Tick tock ⏰
You put the target on his back by trying to strip him of secret service protection. You knew that by calling for that it would incite violence against him. pic.twitter.com/9hL4LS9gTQ

You can’t even say his name. You are a traitor.

With all due respect and sincerity Bennie…. FUCK YOU! If you had it your way he may very well be dead today… you tried to strip his security, don’t even stand here and pretend you give a damn about his well being. You are a peace of shit…

Donald Trump Jr. bluntly stated that if Thompson had succeeded, his father would now be dead. He urged people not to allow Thompson to bury what he attempted to do.
Remember, if @BennieGThompson and the Democrats got their way, my dad would be dead right now. Don't let them memory hole it. pic.twitter.com/KUdYx1AIAs

Make no mistake, they ALL wish Trump had died yesterday. We will NEVER forget.
