On Tuesday, the US Supreme Court allowed Texas to implement its immigration law, granting police the authority to arrest illegal aliens.
The conservative majority of the Supreme Court dismissed an emergency petition by the Biden administration seeking to block Texas’ immigration law.
The Supreme Court temporarily rejected the Biden administration’s request.
There is still a possibility that Texas’ immigration law could be blocked in the future.
NBC News reported:
The Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that it will allow Texas to enforce for now a contentious new law that gives local police the power to arrest migrants.
The conservative-majority court, with three liberal justices dissenting, rejected an emergency request by the Biden administration, which said states have no authority to legislate on immigration, an issue the federal government has sole authority over.
That means the law can go into effect while litigation continues in lower courts. It could still be blocked at a later date.
In December, Governor Greg Abbott (R) signed a law granting Texas law enforcement the authority to arrest illegal aliens during the surge of border crossings under the Biden administration.
Abbott emphasized the need for the new bill, attributing it to Biden’s deliberate inaction in addressing the border crisis, adding the new bill is designed to “stop the tidal wave of illegal entry into Texas.”
“At the Texas-Mexico border today for a bill signing ceremony that will take #OperationLoneStar to the next level,” Abbott said on X in December.

Since then, the Biden regime and leftists have been using all available means to try and stop the law from being implemented.
Far-left “civil rights” groups such as the ACLU have filed lawsuits in an attempt to halt Abbott’s new legislation.
Mexico’s radical leftist president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, also threatened to take legal action against the State of Texas over the new law.
In February, U.S. District Judge David Ezra issued a preliminary injunction to halt enforcement of the law until further proceedings.
The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has issued a temporary stay on a federal judge’s ruling, pausing the suspension of the Texas law that allows law enforcement to arrest illegal border crossers.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton released a statement on the major victory:
HUGE WIN: Texas has defeated the Biden Administration’s and ACLU’s emergency motions at the Supreme Court. Our immigration law, SB 4, is now in effect. As always, it’s my honor to defend Texas and its sovereignty, and to lead us to victory in court.
