Peter Doocy grilled White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, about why unvaccinated illegal migrants can cross the border, but Novac Djokovic isn’t allowed to participate in the US Open because he is not vaccinated.
Jean-Pierre laughed and stuttered through her response.
Doocy: “How come migrants are allowed to come into this country unvaccinated but world class tennis players are not?”
Jean-Pierre: “You’re talking about which tennis player?”
Doocy: “Novan Djokovic.”
Jean-Pierre: “… so these records are confidential, under US law, therefore, the U.S. government cannot discuss the details of individual visa cases. Due to privacy reasons, the U.S. also does not comment on medical information of individual travelers as it relates to the tennis player,”
Doocy, unsatisfied with her response, pushed.

Earlier this week, Djokovic tweeted that he will not be able to travel to New York for the US Open, thanking his supporters and wishing his fellow players “good luck”.
Djokovic was the 2022 Wimbledon champion and will not be allowed to participate in the US Open due to his refusal to get vaccinated, while thousands of illegal migrants are allowed to walk over the border every day.
