Another retailer is fleeing the filthy crime-ridden Liberal hellhole of San Francisco.
Old Navy will be closing their flagship store on Market Street in downtown San Francisco on July 1 after almost 30 years.
KTVU News reported:
“Since our Market Street store opened in the 1990s, the way we leverage flagship locations has changed,” the company announced. “As a result, we have taken the difficult decision to close our Market Street store when the lease expires, and we are already working to identify new locations in downtown San Francisco that will better serve the needs of the business and our customers.”
Old Navy’s closure comes on the heels of many other downtown San Francisco retailers shuttering their doors.
Williams Sonoma, Nordstrom, and Saks Off 5th have all announced store closings in San Francisco in the month of May.
As did Coco Republic, an upscale home furnishing provider that is leaving its three-story storefront at 55 Stockton Street after opening last fall.
Luxury furniture retailer Coco Republic closed its flagship store in the city, just seven months after opening, due to lack of foot traffic and unsafe conditions due to crime.
T-Mobile recently announced that it was calling it quits in downtown San Francisco for the very same reasons.
Earlier this month, Nordstrom announced it was closing its store at the Westfield Mall on Market Street, along with a nearby Nordstrom Rack, citing high crime and lack of law enforcement.
Last month, Whole Foods closed its Market Street store a little over one year after opening, due to high crime and public drug use near the store.
Comedian Dave Chappelle recently torched San Francisco during a stand-up show, asking the audience, “What the f*ck happened to this place?” He said the city has ”morphed into half Glee, half zombie movie” and joked that the city ”needs a batman.”
During the set, he told a story about seeing someone poop right in front of a restaurant he was about to go into.
