It is being reported that at least 18 people were killed and several others injured after Robert Card opened fire at multiple sites in Lewiston, Maine.
Gunfire was reported at a bowling alley, a restaurant, and a recreation center, following initial reports of an active shooter around 7:15 p.m. ET. Lewiston Police posted on Facebook that they were responding to an active shooter situation and encouraged residents to shelter in place.

“Please stay off the roads to allow emergency responders access to the hospitals,” police said.
Central Maine Medical Center confirmed that they were dealing with a “mass casualty, mass shooter event” and were coordinating with local hospitals to admit patients.
According to unverified reports:
Card, a qualified firearms instructor, is suspected of having connections with the Army Reserve, based in Saco, ME. Adding to the unease, law enforcement authorities have disclosed that Card had recently reported experiencing mental health issues, which included auditory hallucinations and threats of a potential shooting at the National Guard Base in Saco.
What’s even more unsettling is that Card was committed to a mental health facility for a period of two weeks during the summer of 2023, after which he was discharged.
