Tributes for a young, talented Glasgow chef have poured in after he was ‘taken too soon’.
Ross McComish died suddenly this week leaving friends, family and his colleagues at The Gannet devastated.
Last night, the popular restaurant shared the tragic news of his sudden passing in a Facebook post.
The post read: “Yesterday we received the devastating news that our friend & colleague Ross McComish has passed away.
“During the time Ross spent with us he endeared himself with his charm, quick wit and was loved by all.
“It’s incredibly sad to see such an enthusiastic chef with a passion for our industry, his whole life and career ahead of him taken so soon.
“Our thoughts go out to his family at this difficult time. He will be dearly missed by all here at The Gannet.”
The tragic post was flooded with comments, including from Ross’ heartbroken family. His brothers, Jack and Euan McComish, hailed the fine dining restaurant for its statement.
His younger brother, Euan, thanked the Gannet for “taking care of him” and said: “he was one in a million and loved working with you all! Love you big bro.”
His big brother, Jack, added: “Thank you for look after my wee bro, he was in the happiest place to cook as a chef and be loved too.”
Friends of Ross also added their condolences to the tribute.
One said: “I’m so sorry to read of this young man’s passing. Gone far too soon.”
“Sending deepest sympathy and love.”
