Today, Special Counsel Robert Hur is testifying before the House Judiciary Committee.
Hur was subpoenaed in February to provide testimony regarding his discoveries related to Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents.
Last month, Special Counsel Robert Hur published a comprehensive 345-page report detailing his investigation into the stolen classified documents.
The stolen documents in Biden’s possession were found in various states of disarray, stored in damaged cardboard boxes and unlocked drawers at the Penn Biden Center. Additionally, they were easily accessible in Biden’s Delaware garage and basement den.
Robert Hur concluded that Joe Biden “willfully retained” classified materials; however, he opted not to pursue charges. Hur noted evidence suggesting Biden retained classified notebooks, fully aware he was not supposed to do so.
The Justice Department justified its decision not to prosecute Biden, referring to him as a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
Below is a transcript of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s opening statement.
Fox News reported:
Special Counsel Robert Hur is expected to testify on Capitol Hill on his findings following months of investigating President Biden’s mishandling of classified records.
Hur will testify publicly at the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Hur, who released his report to the public in February, did not recommend criminal charges against Biden for mishandling and retaining classified documents and stated that he wouldn’t bring charges against Biden even if he were not in the Oval Office.
Those records included classified documents about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan and other countries, among other records related to national security and foreign policy, which Hur said implicated “sensitive intelligence sources and methods.”
Joe Biden couldn’t remember when he was vice president or when his son Beau died.
