According to a report by Susan Crabtree from Real Clear Politics, during President Trump’s visit to North Carolina on August 14th, a Secret Service agent abandoned her post to breastfeed her baby.

These concerning details emerge just weeks after an attempted assassination at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, raising serious questions about Secret Service protocols.

The report states that five minutes before Trump’s motorcade was set to arrive, the site agent responsible for overall security discovered the agent from the Atlanta Field Office breastfeeding her child in a room that was designated for Secret Service “official work.”

Crabtree notes that the agent did not have permission to leave her post and failed to inform the site event agent.

Not only did she abandon her post, but she also violated security protocols by allowing her family members to bypass Uniformed Division checkpoint.

From Susan Crabtree’s report on X:

Shortly before Trump’s motorcade arrival — I’m told five minutes beforehand  — the site agent was getting ready for the arrival. (The site agent is the person in charge of the entire event’s security.)

The site agent went to do one final sweep of the walking route and found the agent breast-feeding her child in a room that is supposed to be set aside for important Secret Service official work, i.e. a potential emergency related to the president.

A working agent on duty cannot bring a child to a protective assignment. The woman was out of the Atlanta Field Office.

The woman agent was in the room with two other family members.

The agent and her family members bypassed the Uniformed Division checkpoint and were escorted by an unpinned event staff into the room to breastfeed, the sources said. Unpinned means they have not been cleared by the Secret Service to be there.

Alana Austin with Newsmax reported that a whistleblower within the Secret Service expressed concerns to his colleagues about the likelihood of an imminent attack on President Trump. She noted that the intensity of the calendar increases as the November elections approach, and the Secret Service has long raised concerns about being overstretched during election years while trying to protect current and former presidents and their running mates.

In response, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said, “All employees of the Secret Service are held to the highest standards. While there was no impact to the North Carolina event, the specifics of this incident are being examined. Given this is a personnel matter, we are not in a position to comment further.”
