Rep. Matt Gaetz outlined steps that he is urging House Republicans to take to fight back against the political prosecution of President Trump by Biden’s corrupt DOJ.
He laid out his plan in a recent appearance on Newsmax.
Gaetz started by insisting that House Republicans must “ immediately demand that Jack Smith present himself for a transcribed interview before the Judiciary Committee in the next 15 days,” stating that failure to comply would lead to disciplinary actions.
Gaetz then said, “If he does not do that, we should send a subpoena,” He continued, “If he ignores the subpoena, we should hold him in criminal contempt of the Congress so that he is the first prosecutor in American history to be prosecuting a case while himself under criminal contempt.”
The representative also addressed Attorney General Merrick Garland in his plan, saying, “If Merrick Garland doesn’t enforce that criminal contempt, then we ought to impeach Merrick Garland.”
Watch:
Gaetz also voiced his frustration over the fact that this is all an attempt to divert attention from the “very real” serious crimes committed by the Biden Crime Family. He remarked, “This is all an effort to try to distract us from the very real crimes committed by Hunter and Joe Biden.”
Furthermore, Gaetz pointed out that Congress can utilize Congressional immunity in order to immunize President Trump: “Utilizing Congressional immunities to immunize President Trump. 18 U.S. c. 6002 – sub part 3, gives any committee of the Congress the ability to subpoena a witness, bring them in and functionally immunize them.”
House Republicans, who have “Power of the Purse”, can also defund the FBI and the DOJ, something they should have done immediately after gaining control of the House.
It’s great that at least one House Republican is forming a plan to finally fight back, however, it means nothing if it is just talk.
