At an event at the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C., former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley announced that she will vote for Donald Trump in the upcoming November election.
The endorsement came in response to a question about who would perform better in the White House, Joe Biden or Donald Trump.
“I put my priorities on a president who’s going to have the backs of our allies and hold our enemies to account, who would secure the border—no more excuses,” Haley’s response began. “A president who would support capitalism and freedom, a president who understands we need less debt, not more. Trump has not been perfect on these policies; I have made that clear many, many times. But Biden has been a catastrophe.”
“I will be voting for Trump.”
She went on, “Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me and not assume that they’re just going to be with him. And I genuinely hope he does that.”
During her suspension speech in March, the former South Carolina Governor did not endorse Trump, but she apparently has had a change of heart.

After suffering an embarrassing defeat on Super Tuesday, Nikki Haley suspended her campaign.
In her suspension speech, the former U.N. ambassador pledged to continue supporting the war in Ukraine and urged Trump to “earn” the votes of her supporters.
Meanwhile, Biden’s campaign is strategically targeting Haley’s base, viewing them as potential swing voters. The campaign is establishing a “Republicans for Biden” group, aiming to attract a significant number of Haley supporters in key battleground states, sources close to the matter revealed to the Associated Press.
From AP News:
Nikki Haley said Wednesday that she will be voting for Donald Trump in the general election, a notable show of support given their intense and often personal rivalry during the Republican primary calendar.
But Haley also made it clear that she feels Trump has work to do to win over voters who supported her during the course of the primary campaign and continue to cast votes for her in ongoing primary contests.
“I will be voting for Trump,” Haley, Trump’s former U.N. ambassador, said during an event at the Hudson Institute in Washington.
“Having said that, I stand by what I said in my suspension speech,” Haley added. “Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me and not assume that they’re just going to be with him. And I genuinely hope he does that.”
