A horrific incident occurred in France when a teacher was stabbed to death, and two others severely injured.
A knife-wielding attacker launched an assault at City School Gambetta-Carnot in Arras, northern France.
The assailant, who has been identified as Mohammed Mogouchkov, reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the attack. The suspect, a 20-year-old former pupil of the school with Chechen origins, had been previously flagged by authorities and placed on a terror watch list, as reported by the Telegraph.
This tragic event unfolded on Friday morning, prompting a swift response from the police. Dominique Bernard, a French literature teacher, tragically lost his life, while a sports teacher and a security guard were injured. No students were harmed during the attack. The suspect’s brother was also apprehended near another school, although no weapon was found in his possession, according to reports from the France news outlet Le Figaro.
Disturbing footage circulating on social media shows the assailant in the school playground, with several individuals attempting to subdue him.

Martin Doussaut, a philosophy teacher, narrowly escaped harm after being pursued by the attacker and finding refuge in a locked room.
Eyewitnesses reported that they received a video of the assailant entering the school shortly before the attack took place. As the stabbings unfolded, students were locked in their classrooms for their safety.
Sliman Hamzi, one of the first police officers on the scene, recalled that the suspected attacker shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the assault. Hamzi received an urgent report from another officer passing by the high school who alerted him to the knife attack.
French union leader Sophie Vénétitay commended the slain teacher for giving his life to protect the students. She also expressed her concern for the critically injured security guard, highlighting the educators’ dedication to both teaching and ensuring the safety of their students.
French President Emmanuel Macron visited the scene in Arras, leading to a temporary suspension of parliamentary proceedings. Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin confirmed the arrest of the suspect and announced an ongoing police operation at the school.
While the investigation proceeds, the city of Arras has decided to suspend all events until further notice, underscoring the seriousness of the situation and the necessity for increased vigilance.
