A Philadelphia suburb is mourning the loss of a 30-year-old teacher and mother who died suddenly days after giving birth to her second son.
Jennifer Krasna, of Newtown, passed away “unexpectedly” Monday following the arrival of her newborn, Cade, Charlestown Elementary School Principal Chris Pickell told TV station WTXF.
Pickell described Jennifer as “magical in the classroom,” and praised her for catering her lessons to individual students to make sure no one was left behind.
“The community is in shock to have something like this happen unexpectedly,” Pickell said. “Jenn would always do anything to help somebody, and she loved her kids in her class.”
She leaves behind 2-year-old Ty and her husband, Jesse Krasna, who posted a lengthy and emotional tribute to his wife on Facebook.
“She loved being a mom,” Jesse wrote. “Seeing her smile getting to hold Cade for the first time is something that makes me happy. The bond Jenn and Ty formed over the last 2+ years will never be broken.”
Details about exactly what happened haven’t been released, but the 30-year-old was loved and adored by everyone who knew her.
A GoFundMe campaign that was started by Jennifer’s best friend, Brianna Plaxe, has raised $273k, far exceeding the $50k goal set for the fundraiser.
“Jesse is overwhelmed by the love, support, and generosity from his family, friends, and community. Thank you all so, so much,” Plaxe wrote in an update on November 30.
