Lululemon fired two of their employees in Georgia for calling the police on masked robbers who were ransacking their store.

Jennifer Ferguson, former assistant manager, and Rachel Rogers, a former employee at the Lululemon store in Peachtree Corners, were fired by the retail chain following the incident which was caught on video. The video shows Ferguson and Rogers confronting a mob of masked robbers who burst into the store, grabbed as much merchandise as they could carry and took off with it.

According to one of the fired employees, the same group of masked thieves had targeted the same Atlanta store for weeks as employees helplessly watched in silence.

After several robberies at the store, the employees decided to call the police.

Following the incident, The two former employees were questioned by a regional manager and later fired for violating the company’s absurd “no-tolerance” policy.

Ferguson said that the store’s policy is to stay out of the way of thieves, let them steal, and then scan a QR code to record the loss. They are instructed to NOT call the police.

In the video, Ferguson can be heard telling the burglars to leave. They initially ignore her and continue looting. Eventually, they take off out of the store and get into a waiting vehicle. The employees then called the Gwinnett Police Department to report the robbery.

Thanks to the actions of the fired employees, the thieves were apprehended and charged with felony theft.

11 Alive reported:

Two metro Atlanta women say they were fired from the Lululemon in Peachtree Corners for calling the police to report a robbery.

Jennifer Ferguson was the assistant manager at the time.

“All of a sudden we see some gentlemen run into the store in masks and hoodies,” Ferguson said, “They swiped until they couldn’t hold any more product and ran out the door.”

Rachel Rogers was a key leader at the time. She caught the robbery on camera.

“We didn’t really feel very protected or know what else to do,” Rogers said.

Rogers has been working for the company for five years. She says the Peachtree Corners location has been dealing with a string of thefts for months. She shared what happened during a separate incident.

No one at the store called the police during the other swipes. This time, Rogers and Ferguson called the authorities. However, Ferguson says this went against company policy.

Gwinnett Police Department confirmed to 11Alive that there have been a few robberies in the area. According to a police report, the three thieves at the Peachtree Corner’s LuLuLemon are now facing felony robbery charges.

However, Rogers and Ferguson were both fired. Both were given the same reasoning.
