Earlier this month, Judge Tanya Chutkan, an Obama appointee, issued a gag order against President Trump, the leading candidate in the 2024 presidential election.
This is not only blatantly unconstitutional, it’s shameless election interference.
Even far-left ACLU filed a brief arguing that imposing an overly broad gag order on President Trump in an ongoing election interference case infringes upon his First Amendment rights.
Chutkan’s gag order on Trump is worse than initially thought. According to this order, Trump is prohibited from criticizing Special Counsel Jack Smith or any of the prosecutors, even if his statements are truthful.
In addition, Trump is prohibited from criticizing any of Jack Smith’s staffers, any of the court’s personnel, or any individuals considered “witnesses.”

On October 20, Judge Chutkan decided to temporarily halt the gag order she had imposed in the DOJ’s January 6 case involving Trump. She agreed to this pause while Trump and Jack Smith prepared their appeal briefs.

In her most recent decision, Judge Chutkan argued that Trump’s repeatedly inflammatory criticisms directed at prosecutors, court officials, and witnesses posed a threat to the case’s integrity and the safety of individuals involved.
However, Jack Smith remains free to illegally leak information to the far left media in order to smear President Trump.
