A preliminary investigation report by Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA), who has a law enforcement background, has revealed that the body of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the would-be assassin of Trump, is “gone.”
On August 12, Higgins filed a preliminary report to Task Force Chairman Mike Kelly (R-PA), whose district includes the Butler County Fairgrounds (known as “Butler Farm”), where the incident took place. Initially embargoed, the report was authorized for release on Thursday.

In his report, Rep. Higgins stated that on August 5, when he requested to view Thomas Matthew Crooks’s body, he was informed that the body was “gone.”
The Louisiana representative disclosed that the FBI released the body for cremation just ten days after the shooting on July 13.
Higgins wrote, “My effort to examine Crooks’ body on Monday, August 5, caused quite a stir and revealed a disturbing fact… the FBI released the body for cremation 10 days after J13.”
“On J23, Crooks was gone. Nobody knew this until Monday, August 5, including the County Coroner, law enforcement, Sheriff, etc. Yes, Butler County Coroner technically had legal authority over the body,” added Higgins.
