Far-left BuzzFeed News is shutting down, according to a memo from CEO Jonah Peretti.
BuzzFeed is best known for publishing the fake Hillary Clinton-funded Russia dossier, as real news in January 2017.
The fake news outlet was sued for publishing the Russia dossier.
The news follows a report that the company has been losing upwards of $10 million per year on its news division, according to the Daily Mail.
In an email to staff, Buzzfeed CEO Jonah Peretti said, “we are reducing our workforce by approximately 15 percent today across our Business, Content, Tech, and Admin teams, and beginning the process of closing Buzzfeed News.”
“While layoffs are occurring across nearly every division, we’ve determined that the company can no longer continue to fund BuzzFeed News as a standalone organization,” Peretti continued.
Peretti noted that some staff members from BuzzFeed’s news division will be moving to the company’s sister site, the Huffington Post.
Twitter users shared some examples of the total garbage BuzzFeed reported as real news.
