Democrat Representative Dean Phillips, one of the Democrat party’s staunchest critics of Joe Biden, has announced that he is running for president, entering the party’s primary and challenging Joe Biden.

During an interview with CBS News, Phillips from Minnesota pointed out Joe Biden’s declining cognitive ability and the lack of enthusiasm among Democrats for a second Biden term. According to Phillips, the upcoming election should be focused on “the future.”
Phillips said that he won’t “be quiet” as polling numbers “are clearly saying that we’re going to be facing an emergency next November.”
“I think President Biden has done a spectacular job for our country,” Phillips said. “But it’s not about the past. This is an election about the future.”
“I will not sit still and not be quiet in the face of numbers that are so clearly saying that we’re going to be facing an emergency next November,” Phillips continued, claiming another term for President Donald Trump would be a “crisis moment for American democracy.”

The Daily Caller reported that Representative Phillips has contacted New Hampshire Democrat Party Chair Ray Buckley to assemble a team for the state’s first-in-the-nation primary. This move follows a longstanding dispute between Buckley and Joe Biden, dating back to Biden’s campaign announcement that he would adhere to new rules set forth by the Democratic National Committee, which designated South Carolina as the site for the first official primary.
By opting not to participate in New Hampshire’s primary, which state Democrats intend to conduct regardless, Biden is essentially surrendering an early battleground to contenders like Rep. Phillips and others, including Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who recently declared his intention to pursue an independent candidacy.
Phillips will officially launch his campaign in New Hampshire on Friday, and has registered to appear on the state’s primary ballot.
As each new poll reveals increasing concern among most Americans, and even within the Democrat majority, regarding Joe Biden’s ability to serve another term, Rep. Phillips has emerged as a prominent advocate for “generational change” at the highest levels of leadership.
Biden’s Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced scrutiny on CNN when she asserted that the White House Press Corps “can’t keep up” with Biden’s energy, even though there have been numerous instances of trips, falls, gaffes, and brain glitches that have plagued nearly every one of his public appearances.
