Joe Biden’s Attorney General, Merrick Garland, made a public statement at 12:15 pm Eastern today.
AG Garland announced that U.S. attorney for the district of Delaware David Weiss has been granted special counsel status in the Biden criminal case.

Weiss had previously asked for special counsel status in the Hunter Biden case and was denied.
Garland walked away without answering when a reporter asked, ““If Weiss had the authorities he needed, why does he need to be a special counsel? Do you still have faith in U.S. Attorney Weiss after the deal fell apart?”
