“Do you think Biden should step down?” the anonymous passer-by asked the “Good Morning America” co-host, adding, “You’ve talked to him more than anybody else has lately.”
“I don’t think he can serve four more years,” Stephanopoulos replied after a pause.
“You don’t think he can serve four more years?” the questioner repeated, adding: “All right, that’s an answer.”

From Fox News:
ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos revealed he doesn’t think President Biden can serve four more years in office just days after their high-stakes interview.
TMZ obtained video of Stephanopoulos on the streets of New York City on Tuesday where he was asked whether he thought Biden should step down.
“I don’t think he can serve four more years,” Stephanopoulos responded.
White House spokesperson Andrew Bates pointed Fox News Digital to comments made at Tuesday’s press briefing by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who told Fox News’ Peter Doocy that the president is committing to serve a full second term in office. The Biden campaign did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
ABC News confirmed the comment, saying “George expressed his own point of view…”
According to the New York Post, Stephanopoulos later expressed regret for expressing his opinion to the passer-by.
Hours later after the video made headlines, Stephanopoulos expressed regret for offering up his candid response.
“Earlier today I responded to a question from a passerby. I shouldn’t have,” the news anchor told Puck News in a statement.
And ABC News, in their own statement to the outlet, added: “George expressed his own point of view and not the position of ABC News.”
