Far-left, radical Judge Tanya Chutkan, appointed by Obama, has rejected the gag order hearing dates that Trump’s legal team requested, scheduling it for this Friday morning instead.
Monday evening Trump’s legal team and Jack Smith filed dueling motions on the so-called “protective order”, which is essentially a gag order in disguise.
On Friday, in a post on Truth Social, President Trump said, “IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I’M COMING AFTER YOU!”, following Jack Smith’s recent federal indictment.
In response to President Trump’s statement on Truth Social, Jack Smith asked the Obama-appointed judge to prevent Trump from sharing information about the case with the public.
On Saturday, Judge Chutkan, who has shown a clear bias and previously worked with Hunter Biden, granted President Trump until Monday at 5 PM to address a motion for a protective order submitted by Jack Smith.
Chutkan gave Trump only ONE DAY to respond rather than the standard 14 days.
Such abuse is targeted exclusively at President Trump and Conservatives.
Trump’s legal team responded to Jack Smith’s request for what he is calling a “protective order”, and raised concerns related to the First Amendment.
“In a trial about First Amendment rights, the government seeks to restrict Frist Amendment right. Worse, it does so against its administration’s primary political opponent, during an election season in which the administration, prominent party members, and media allies have campaigned on the indictment and proliferated its false allegations,” Trump’s counsel wrote.
In a dueling motion filed on Monday night, Jack Smith argued that the imposition of a gag order is crucial, as Trump intends to “litigate this case in the media, to the detriment of litigating this case in the courtroom.”
In other words, he would much rather keep it hidden from the American public. If his case were strong, and he had actual evidence of wrongdoing by Trump, then why would he want it hidden from the American public?
Trump’s legal team requested for the gag order hearing to be scheduled for either Monday or Tuesday of the following week so that both lawyers could be present. Trump’s lawyer Todd Blanche is currently tied up in court this week in proceedings linked to Jack Smith’s superseding indictment, filed in a federal court in Florida.
Judge Chutkan rejected the dates put forth by Trump’s legal team and scheduled the hearing for this Friday at 10 am, so it is likely only one of Trump’s lawyers will be present for the hearing.
Chutkan denied a completely reasonable request by Trump’s legal team.
