Newly disclosed court documents reveal that Special Counsel Jack Smith secretly obtained a search warrant for the Twitter account @RealDonaldTrump, which belongs to President Trump.
X, formerly Twitter, was fined $350,000 as a consequence of its delay in complying with the subpoenaed records.
The level of confidentiality surrounding the search warrant was so high that it left even Trump unaware of Jack Smith’s action in issuing the records subpoena.
Under Joe Biden, whose Justice Department has been accused of corruption, a nondisclosure order was secured, preventing X from notifying Trump about Jack Smith’s issuance of the subpoena.
Throughout the extensive legal battle spanning several months, X argued that the nondisclosure order violated both the First Amendment and the Stored Communications Act.
The Justice Department argued Trump would put the “ongoing investigation” in jeopardy.
As reported by CNN, the DC Circuit Court of Appeals determined that there were “reasonable grounds to believe” that disclosing the search warrant to Trump would “jeopardize the ongoing investigation.”
The DOJ finally amended the nondisclosure order and allowed X to “notify the former President of the existence and contents of the warrant,” CNN reported.
Trump eviscerated Jack Smith and Joe Biden in a Truth Social post.
Jack Smith is resorting to dirty, underhanded tactics, using gag orders to conceal information, as well as attempting to silence Trump through an additional form of gag order, disguised as a “protective order”, which would prevent Trump from publicly defending himself against this unprecedented abuse and election interference.
Trump’s legal team responded to Jack Smith’s request for what he is calling a “protective order”, and raised concerns related to the First Amendment.
“In a trial about First Amendment rights, the government seeks to restrict Frist Amendment right. Worse, it does so against its administration’s primary political opponent, during an election season in which the administration, prominent party members, and media allies have campaigned on the indictment and proliferated its false allegations,” Trump’s counsel wrote.
Jack Smith responded late Monday night in a dueling motion, absurdly claiming that the gag order is necessary because Trump wants to “litigate this case in the media, to the detriment of litigating this case in the courtroom.”
The irony is palpable, considering Jack Smith is the same guy who issued a scathing politically motivated statement against Trump following the most recent indictment, literally litigating his garbage case in the media.
Additionally, Jack Smith has been continuously illegally leaking information to CNN, WaPo, New York Times, and other anti-Trump media outlets, who are known for covering for Joe Biden.
These dirty crooks always project onto Trump what they, themselves, are guilty of.
