Democrat Rep. Hank Johnson of Guam caused an uproar during Monday’s field hearing on violent crime in NYC after he accused the witnesses – including police officers, victims and victims’ family members – of being “props in a MAGA Broadway production.”
Monday’s hearing, titled “Victims of Violent Crime in Manhattan” focused on how corrupt Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s pro-crime, anti-victim policies have led to an increase in violent crime and a dangerous community for New York City residents.
The room erupted over Johnson’s comments, and one witness called out, “Please don’t talk down to us witnesses please.”
“You work for us. We do not work for you!” Madeline Brame, chairwoman of the Victims Rights Reform Council, told the committee.
