An unidentified 33-year-old man was arrested Monday afternoon for throwing a beer can at GOP Senator Ted Cruz at the Astros World Series parade.
Cruz was on a float in Houston at the 2400 block of Smith Street when the can was thrown, the Houston Police Department tweeted.
According to police, the beer can hit Senator Cruz in the chest/neck area.
“The Senator did not require medical attention,” a Houston police officer said according to TMZ.
In the video below of the incident, Cruz is standing in the back of a military style vehicle when a can is seen hurling towards his head. The other people in the vehicle with him can be seen attempting to shield him. The parade crowd immediately boos the assailant after the incident.
