The Kansas City Chiefs abruptly canceled all team activities on Thursday after defensive lineman BJ Thompson suffered a severe medical emergency.
NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported that Thompson suffered a seizure during a special teams meeting and subsequently went into cardiac arrest.
Sources close to the situation informed Pelissero that the incident occurred suddenly, prompting an immediate response from the Chiefs’ medical staff.
An ambulance was quickly called, and according to the latest update, Thompson is currently in stable condition.

The Chiefs released a statement early Thursday, announcing that the day’s Organized Team Activities (OTAs) were canceled due to the medical emergency.
