A Vermont middle school soccer coach and his daughter say they were both suspended from Randolph Union High School for complaining about the presence of a transgender student in the girls’ locker room and misgendering him by referring to him as “he”.

Blake Allen, 14, was suspended for complaining about the transgender student in the girls’ locker room.

Her father, Travis Allen, was suspended without pay from his job as the girls’ soccer coach for calling the biologically male student, who identifies as a transgender girl, ‘a male.’

The father and daughter have since retained a lawyer from Alliance Defending Freedom – a Christian legal advocacy group.

Blake and Travis joined Tucker Carlson Tonight on Thursday night to discuss the lawsuit filed against the school district.

“I made a social media post and referred to the male student as a male, and I was punished because I misgendered him,” Travis told Carlon.

Travis explained that he was uncomfortable with the 14-year-old sharing the room with his daughter and her fellow female volleyball players.

Blake added that she was told to participate in a “restorative justice circle” and write a letter of apology to the transgender student.

“I said I would rather have a five-day suspension than have to apologize because I’m not sorry,” she said.

Blake informed Carlson that the school lifted her suspension shortly after their lawsuit was filed.
